I watched Clash of the Titans last night with Spiro and Milo. We had fun. It was the 1981 original, with music performed by The London Symphony Orchestra and a costume designer armed with a jewel gun.
I loved the film. Perseus was the perfect mix of sex god and horse whisperer. And Andromeda's wardrobe was something to covet. The story was theatrical and romantic and reminded me of movies I watched as a kid: The Ten Commandments, Cleopatra, and The Black Swan (no, not that Black Swan).
Yes, the special effects were unrealistic and lines were delivered poorly. But the fantastic element was there and, to quote Spiro, "This is what I want from movies!" So three cheers for this film. Its imperfections only add to its magic.

"armed with a jewel gun" is right.
ReplyDeleteman I love pegasus.
